My Story
I’m Sonny Nguyen, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Rise Swoletariat is my training platform.

After a 12 year-long career in political advocacy, community organizing, and youth empowerment, I decided to explore a new chapter. I spent months figuring out what to do next, and realized that the highlights of my weeks were the Saturdays I got to learn and teach snowboarding with the youth I mentor at the Service Board.

I knew that this is what I wanted to focus on - helping people do things they didn’t know they could by teaching them how to listen to, nurture, and celebrate their bodies.

My Philosophy
My training philosophy follows the National Academy of Sports Medicine development model but is additionally informed by my years training people in politics and snowboarding, as well as an academic background in pedagogy. The most important thing is to build a stronger relationship with your body - mentally, spiritually, and physically. To reach long term goals, we need to build a strong foundation of love and understanding our whole selves.

My training style is best described as your learning style. Whether you’re a visual learner or a kinetic learner, intrinsically motivated or need external encouragement, an athlete looking to sharpen your workout or a beginner to exercise, let’s schedule an appointment so we can find out what works best for you.
