When I started my fitness adventure, I was doing pretty dangerous things to my body - trying fad diets and taking supplements sold by Instagram influencers. Sonny worked with me to create a plan I can actually stick to and feel healthy doing it. Sonny gently taught me about all the things that seemed overwhelming to learn about and helped me grow my understanding of my body. Now, I know how to balance the kinds of food that support my body with the kinds of food that support my happiness (mostly hot Cheetos). Most surprising is I actually love going to the gym now, because it’s not a punishment! It’s a way to spend time with myself and hit some goals!

Sonny took something that is inherently difficult and unfamiliar to the average person and made it approachable (still difficult, but it kind of has to be). As someone who has not physically trained for anything in a very long time, I could not have made the progress I did without Sonny's guidance and patience. They listened to my concerns and talked through goals with me in a body-positive manner, something that can often be overlooked in their industry. There was a clear focus on physical health without compromising mental health, a precarious balance to maintain when building an ambitious regime. The built-in variety and flexibility within the structured routine Sonny created allowed me to become very attuned to my physical capabilities and limitations, as well as the specific changes I felt (namely, soreness in places I did not think possible).
